WNTI was proud to be involved in such a worthwhile initiative and extends it’s congratulations to this years winner was Lauren Coulson and her presentation: Nuclear for Net Zero.

This years speakers were:

  • Lauren Coulson – Nuclear for Net Zero
  • Luca Duffy – Transforming Legacy thinking
  • Paige MacLeod – A Spotlight on Americium 241
  • Alec Sims – Applying Net Zero to Nuclear – decarbonising delivery at Sellafield and beyond
  • Kathleen Sullivan – The Unique and Unusual Applications of Nuclear
“Some stuff is all about having fun. This was one of those occasions. Honoured to be part of the judging panel for the Nuclear Institute young persons speaking event. And they were young (I recognise I am not). A mix of apprentices and early career graduates from a range of companies supporting our nuclear sector. Some key themes from their talks- sustainability, waste, supporting new nuclear energy, the power of technology and people connecting. One personal delight was to see former winner Phillips Hawley hosting the event with Catherine Porter, both previous apprentices. They got involved and now we have more apprentices willing to test themselves as a result. Great speakers, they were all fabulous. And you know what, it is so hard, that first time, standing in front of strangers, in a group, not knowing what they will ask you. Well done to those speakers who pushed themselves out of their comfort zone. 🎉to winner Lauren Coulson (another apprentice!). Thank you for making it a great evening fellow judges Martin and Matt.
