Technical Committee 85 (TC85) deals with nuclear energy, nuclear technologies and radiological protection; standards relating to the transport of radioactive materials are dealt with by the ISO Working Group 4 (WG4: Transportation of radioactive material) in the Sub-Committee 5 (SC5: nuclear installations, processes and technologies) 

The 42st Plenary meeting of ISO TC85 SC5 will be held from 8 – 12 September 2025 in Paris, France. The 15th ISO/TC85/SC5/WG4 meeting will be also held on 9-10 September 2025.

This meeting is mainly to discuss:

  1. ISO 7195 “Packagings for the transport of uranium hexafluoride (UF6)”
  2. ISO 10276 “Trunnion systems”
  3. ISO 12807 “Leakage testing on packages”
  4. PWI TS 18711 “Measurement of radiation level and surface contamination for packages and conveyances”
  5. Switzerland’s proposal for standardising Class 7 boxes

WNTI will be represented at ISO/TC85/SC5/WG4 by WNTI Specialist, Kuniharu Kinoshita.
